Hey there
Mandrake doesn't install support for your zip drive during installation by
default. You can re-config/compile your kernel and add scsi/parallel device
support as you suggested.
I have this neato application called jaZIP that's kinda groovy. You
would need xforms lib 0.88 for that to work as well as having support in your
kernel for the device.
Check out the kernel howto for more info on configuring your kernel. There
should be a small repository of howtos on your dist CD. If not try here:
