Their real problem shall indeed be hiding the opensource projects which won't work either since patents do not overrule GPL / LGPL policies.
Dunno if sudo sources are LGPL, in that case they are allowed to keep their project closed source (as i would not expect otherwise anyway with Mickeysoft). But commonly known MS, they change the whole invention that way that there is nothing left of the original engineering. I doubt their concept will be totally different or new as fighting a whole open source invention system is something MS can't battle up against.

Microsoft has patented the technology behind sudo.
Wonder if they will have any issues hiding the prior art on this one.
