[newbie] MP3 Encoders

I've been playing with Grip lately, and I can't seem to rip and/or 
encode MP3's in the MP3 format. I can R&E in several others, but Grip 
keeps complaining that I need to install "mp3encode" before I can save 
my music in this format.

Am I missing something here? Is there an extra package that i need to 
download or do I need to purchase a codec? Any help would be appreciated.
