Hi Folks

I currently use X-Chat to sit on an IRC channel usually 24/7 (as this machine is always on) and there are a few minor things I thought someone here could help me with :)

I'd like it to be able to flash in the taskbar when someone says something.

If not can someone suggest another program instead please? I'm getting on well with X-Chat and this would be a good addition :)

Cheers, Elwyn

One thing I really miss when I am booted into Linux, is MIRC.

most of Mirc is replicated well enough in the linux IRC clients, but one thing that is not, its Mirc's use of MSAgent

When someone joins my chat server for help, they are read out loud by a chick with a british accent though Mirc on my windows box.

I initially set it up as a bit of a lark, but it has become an indespensible tool. If I am not within viewing sight of the PC, I know when someone comes in, and I know if it is someone I know because their name is read out..

Does anyone know if there is any such text to speach engines for IRC clients like MS Agent in Mirc?

(incidently, I know that you can get Mirc to run in WINE, but you have buckleys chance in hell of getting MSAgent to run, which means no reading aloud and therefore no point in getting Mirc to run at all.

I'd be one less thing I need to fully transition to Linux on the desktop.

Any ideas anyone?
