I prefer something like gkrellm, or in my case my collection of dockapps, anyway, since Karamba, GDesklets, all these things just end up hidden behind whatever window I'm working in any way. Who sits there looking at an empty desktop, thinking 'wow, that looks cool' (except maybe XP users...). RSS feeds? Liferea. Weather? Go the fsck outside! Otherwise, a nice discreet little band off to the side that isn't hidden behind maxed windows is all I need. One thing I'm curious about though, Stephen...why bother with gkrellm when you've got plugins for the XFCE panel for everything except telling you when you need to take a shite (coming soon, fer sure;-)) ...or are you 'playing the field' again (WM-wise that is)? -- JoeHill RLU / #282046 / www.freeyourmachine.org 16:32:38 up 57 days, 16:20, 5 users, load average: 1.57, 1.45, 1.38 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "It's hard to find a nonpartisan national security analyst with a good word for the Bush administration's foreign policy.
