How, exactly, do I only format certain partitions? Does the installer on
the 10.0 CD give me this option? Or do I have to use some other
software?

As for the fat32/ntfs thing, that's what I'm doing now. Every time
someone sends me a spreadsheet or word doc or something in email, I have
to mount my second hard drive, save it to there, shut down, then boot
into windows to open it. Seems clunky, in this day and age...
