Brace yourself. > Yet it has to be said that many problems with windows come from social engineering. Today I had one of those emails that says I have security problems in my windows setup and I must download the fix. I don't have a windows setup, and I wouldn't follow such a link if I did, but I will guarantee that a proportion of windows users, with the best of intentions, will do so. And this trick would work equally well with any linux users that don't understand the issues. The more our distros become easy to use without much technical knowledge, and the more we will have users that get caught by this sort of thing. This isn't a windows vulnerability, it's a human vulnerability. And if you've read SourceForge recently you'll know that it's already being tried.
