Yes, and I suspect integrated cards of causing much misery among
newbies.  I couldn't even get a "supported" sound card to work until
I bought one that could be set to IRQ 10 (available)  Even disabled,
the ESS1888 ties up IRQ 5 in Linux. My next computer will have NO
hardwired accessories!
