Dear All

I have Mandrake 10 working on my computer and I have to say that I am
quite satisfied with it. So, I would like to know why should one move
to Mandrake 10.1. What are Mandrake 10.1's advantages compared to his
older brother - Mandrake 10?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

While 10.1 has worked perfectly for me, it should be remembered that there are some significant changes in 10.1 like udev instead of devfs which may not work well on your particular hardware. Having said that here is a short list of features in 10.1 I quite like. Nothing radical.

1/ Magicdev instead of supermount for CD media. Inserting a data CD will automatically mount it, and inserting an audio CD will automatically start the CD player.

IIRC there was Magicdev in 10.0 already - so this is not a big change. But the default media player changed from Totem (in 10.0) to Kaffeine (in 10.1). Web plugin of the latter was a bit too intrusive so I uninstalled Kaffeine to be able to use Real Player's plugin and now I use other media players.
