Hello folks,

As su/root run "tail -f /var/log/messages" in a console. Then plug in your camera and you should see what adress it gets appointed in /etc/fstab i.e. sda1 or sdb1 or whatever.

I did the same for my Sony HC85E and got the following:

Dec 5 17:49:31 server kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.2-2, assigned
address 3
Dec 5 17:49:31 server kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod
0x54c/0x2e) is not claimed by any active driver.
Dec 5 17:49:36 server /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB
product 54c/2e/500

Than I unplugged it and plug it again:

Dec 5 18:03:22 server kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.2-2, assigned address 4
Dec 5 18:03:22 server kernel: usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x54c/0x2e) is not claimed by any active driver.
Dec 5 18:03:26 server /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 54c/2e/500

... and once more time:

Dec 5 18:05:13 server kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.2-2, assigned address 5
Dec 5 18:05:13 server kernel: usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x54c/0x2e) is not claimed by any active driver.
Dec 5 18:05:18 server /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 54c/2e/500

Seems that only the 'address 3' changed to 4, 5 ... What should I do next to mount my cam? I run Mdk 9.1 and it does not list Sony HC85E. Due to the older hardware I am not going to upgrade Mdk to something newer.
