Greetings, I seem to be having difficulty in getting my dvdrom to work. I can't get mplayer, kaffeine, or kdenlive to show me any video. Mplayer locks up and has to be killed, kaffeine doesn't have the required plugin.
Could someone help me? I can't get tuxracer to work either, so there may be a connection. Mplayer caused my .xsession-errors file to grow to in excess of 175MB's! It was so large in fact that I was unable to open it. :-( I am using 10.1 with stock kernel and have installed all updates. My comp is a Dell Inspiron 1150 with 2.8Ghz P4, 512MB ram. My CD/DVD is a Sony CD-RW/DVD-ROM CRX830E. TIA for any feedback.
