Designed to act as a hardware firewall more then anything. But you can hook up a switch or hub, and share the internet connection with more then one computer. The thing you have to look for is somethig about the number of ports if you want to be able to hook more then one computer directly to the router. The 4 port version is the most common, but they do sell an 8 port version as well. I have not seen more then 8 ports unless you are buying a "comericial grade" router. Overkill for a home network...
