J. David Boyd napsal(a):

My Mandrake 10.0 has been setup and running great since June/July, using 256M
memory.

When I set up the system, I went with the "double your memory for swap space"
rule.

Now, I've purchased more memory, to take me to a total of 768M.

How do I double the memory size for swap space?

Is there some easy way, or am I going to need to get some kind of partition
editor, and start moving things around?

Any idea of the consequences of NOT resizing my swap space, but leaving it at
500M?

Slower response of the computer maybe? But I recently have read something somewhere and it said that this rule was no more needed for swap if you have enough ram to operate the system, which should be OK with 768Megs.

Otherwise there is a programme called GPARTED (or KPARTED under KDE) which should do the job for you, i.e. resize partitions safely.

Lukas

Thanks for any ideas,

Dave
