No problem at all.  In /etc/samba/smb.conf you will need something like my 
stanza

[anne-public]
   comment = Public in Anne's home dir.
   path = /home/anne/Public
   browsable = yes
   writable = yes

Remember that anyone who is going to be a samba user will need an account on 
your box (just set up a user for each) and then you need 'smbpasswd add' + 
username which will then prompt you for passwords.  In the case of win98 the 
user's login is sent as password.  W2K and XP I believe can enable you to use 
a different one.
