I'm sure there has been a lot written about usb mice problems - I don't use 
one, so I don't remember the details.  First, try searching the Expert and 
Newbie list archives - you'll find a list of archive links at 
http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/MailingLists

If you don't find what you need there start a new thread with 'usb mouse' in 
the subject, to attract the attention of people who use them.  HTH
