Ahh... Yes, but....
If you want to find anything anywhere on a system, and I include other hard drives - etc, then using the updatedb command won't be of any use.
I use slocate and the only way for me to see other file systems, including my dual booted WinMe, is to use "slocate -u" to compile / update the database.
