There are dozens of distros for Mac. Yellowdog is exclusively Mac (It's basically Fedora ported to PPC), while other Distros like Debian, and even Mandrake if you hadn't heard, have builds for Mac. When running Linux on Mac dual-booted with a more-or-less recent Mac OS you can use Mac-on-Linux to run Mac OS in a VM-type environment, as if you were running both OS's simultainously. So, yes, it's easy to port apps to Linux from Mac OS X and vice versa when you have the source code, but if you're running Linux on PPC it's often a better alternative to run Mac-on-Linux so you can run your Mac OS apps natively and Linux apps natively without needing a reboot.
