For one time use, "export EDITOR=nano" is the xterm or vc you are going to run crontab-e in. For a lasting change, edit .bashrc, and add:I will do what you suggested. How do I set editor to nano?
EDITOR=nano export EDITOR
The change will not take effect untill you close the term, and open a new one, or logout and log in if in the CLI. So use the first form as well, if you want it changed right away.
