Answering from memory here....so if it's wrong I hope some-one will correct me. I know Slackware does the ftp_install over the net, Mandrake doesn't! Mandrake uses NFS_mounts....no biggie except that you (or I) cannot mount removable devices as such. If you've got enough temp. hard diskspace copy the whole DVD content to a directory somewhere in your /home/user/ directory and "share" it. ... look for the option in the directorie's property tab.
