Excellent!  This seems to be a frequent problem....  Here's how to fix
it:

Edit /etc/printcap.  In that file, you'll see a line that starts:

        lp0:

Add:  lp|  to the beginning of that line so it reads:

        lp|lp0:

Save the file, then run:

        /etc/rc.d/init.d/lpd restart

You should now be able to print to your heart's content!  Enjoy!
