Is this a PCI modem? If so, chances are it's a Windows-only
modem and you'll have very little luck getting it to work
under Linux.
OTOH, the name / model # seems to imply that it's a 33.6.
That doesn't rule out it being windows-only, but it makes
it less likely.
Have you tried using Minicom or some other terminal program
to check the other comm ports?
