[newbie] modem and soundcard

I just got mandrake 6.5 working, but I can't get it to know where my modem is 
and where my soundcard is.  I have a OPL3-Sax sound board, and a PC-Tel 33.6k 
data/fax Modem.  And it is not a WinModem I have already checked.
