After some struggling, I finally have managed to configure my Mandrake 6.1 system to use diald to connect on demand for the internet. Now I want to get sendmail working. I configured sendmail using Linuxconf and the file looks similar to my RH 5.2 file which works, but everytime I send a test message to another user on my system, I get a connection to the internet. This happens whether I use a fully qualified name or not. The connection dies after a short time. The installation is standard off the cd, except for diald.
