Checkout the following link:

Browse the section titled offboard PCI controllers.  Grab the resources of 
your controller like they recommend.  You can also grab a Linux boot disk 
and type the command from there.  The command is "cat /proc/pci" without the 
quotes.  (If you need a boot disk go to:http://www.toms.net/rb/).  After 
writing down the resources, boot from your Linux CD and type "linux 
ide0=a,b+2 ide1=c,d+2" without the quotes.  You might have to use ide2 and 
ide3 instead of ide0 and ide1.  I don't know you system as well as you.

Try the above and let me know if you can get Linux installed.  If not, I'll 
send you a personal E-mail with the name and E-mail of a person that has 
linux installed on a system that has the same mobo as your system.



I'm using a Promise Ultra66 IDE controller, so I won't be able to offer too 
much additional help.
