I'm running licq .75 and don't have that problem.  I did have problems 
compiling it tho.

What I had to do was uninstall all qt and qt-devel.  Then install qt 
2.x and qt-devel 2.x.  Compile as per the read-me's.

rpm -U --old-package qt-1.44 . . .

Then Licq and kde ran fine.  :)
