[newbie] Bad Video

I'm using a Compaq Deskpro 2000.

I selected the correct Cirrus Logic video and also selected a Compaq 1024 monitor.  (I 
had a Compaq 150 monitor connected at the time I made the selections.)

Now, after connecting the correct monitor (Compaq 1024), I still can hardly see the 
gui screens.

How can I get into the setup (DOS-like screen) to check all the video settings?
