Yea.. I was looking into that. That is why I pointed him to the
linuxvideo.org they are implimenting some stuff towards the kernell and
software to decode DVD's so they can be played...from what I gather.

I think I can cover that DVD Issue..

I think there MAY be a DVD player for linux...if you remeber the DECSS
scandal that has been going on with the MPAA so there may be one for linux

Yes, there are other methods but this would work

During install from floppy MDK 7 will ask if it can copy addidional
information to the boot floppy, then reboot.
After installation check  syslinux.cfg on the floppy. there should be lines
like
" append  ramdisk=32000 initrd=hd.rdz mdkinst hd ide2=0xb000,0xb402
ide3=0xbc00,0xc002"
ensure that /etc/lilo.conf contains the "ide2=etc and the ide3= portions
