I upgraded my Mandrake 6.0 with 7.0 The system appears to run 10-20x slower. Even the mouse jerks across the screen slower. I have compared the processes running to another existing 6.0 system, but I can't see anything obvious to slow the 7.0 down. I deleted a lot of tasks which are started in the */init.d directory, but no help. I am running a K6-2-333 with 96meg ram. It shows all of the ram on boot. After upgrading ran slow, I went ahead and done a clean install with 7.0 Result: still horribly slow. Anyone seen this? I'll keep working on it. HAS to be something simple.
