I have setup a duel-booting system with Linux and
Windows 98. After successfully installing Linux I have
been unable to get any further. When I choose to boot
into Linux from the Lilo boot menu, the system loads
and then displays a screen which has a picture of a
penguin and information about when the system was
compiled and other information about the processor and
RAM. At the bottom of the screen is this:
Linux Mandrake release 6.1 (Helios)
Localhost login: _
I have typed in 'root' and 'Bobby' which are the users
that were setup when I installed and when I press
enter they just disappear. There is nowhere to enter a
password. I want to setup the system to use KDE but
have no idea how. Can anyone shed any light on this
matter?
