I think he meant CTL-Alt and a function key(representing different text
terminals)

Thanks for suggestions, but I tried pressing both at different times in
the
boot process, but it did nothing. Exactly when during the boot should I
be
pressing it? Unfortunately, the screen locks up and goes black just as
the
screen shows the Mandrake logo and the login prompt, so I can't do
anything
including login.
Any other ideas?
