It happened to me also, the way I got it to work was to use the
text_bootnet.img boot disk to install instead of the gui one. Then the
important thing for me was to not install all the rpm's at once or too
many of them. I just selected a minimal set of packages and it worked.
Later, I just added the ones I need to the system. Give it a try.
