My name is Michael Bui and I have the same problem.
I got a BIG WHITE block when I am in Xwindows.
Is this one of the BUGS on version 7.0 of Mandrake Linux.
Is any one else have this same problem?
Please reply with assistance.

Mouse cursor is just an square block with dimensions
seemingly the same as the icon blocks.
I tried:
xsetroot -cursor_name left_ptr -bg\#000000 -fg\#ffffff
but that did not solve the problem.
I do get a full screen mouse cursor with:
xfd -fn cursor
Please help me in solving this annoying problem.
