Ron,
The ISO is an image file.  ISO is short for ISO-9660, which is the format for CDROMs.  Yes, the ISO file is a CDROM image.  You will need to burn the image onto a CDR/CDRW disk.  If you don't have a burner you will have to either have to redownload the installation files, or try an FTP install.

If you have more questions just ask.

Subject: [newbie] Setup Question

Hi Group....Brand New Newbie here :) Please bare with me

I have downloaded Mandrake ISO 7-02 onto my hard drive. I'm a little confused on what to do next.

When in the installation process, I get the first screen that request this information.

What partition and directory on that partition hold the Mandrake/RPMS and Mandrake/base directories?

When I used winimage I selected the hd.image and extracted the files to a 3 1/2 and the ISO download is
on my C:\ drive, what am I to input?
