I would very much appreciate help getting netatalk to work with Mandrake 7. I downloaded and installed the ISO image, which unfortunately does not contain netatalk. I then downloaded the version referenced on the Mandrake WWW site, apparently successfully. Both atalkd and afpd appear to initialize correctly. I find the Mandrake machine listed in my Macintosh's Chooser. Unfortunately, I am unable to log in using either "root" or any other username/password. It seems that netatalk expects a different password. I *am* able to connect using "Guest" (which does not need a password). I suspect that the problem has something to do with the "shadow" password arrangement. Help (please)!
