Hello, Ok...Over the last two days I have been trying to get Mandrake up and running on my WinNT box. So I did a little reading
and with some help from here, I thought I would setup my box again, but change the file system from NTFS to FAT. Not a problem.
I have been reading the thread in here for a couple days, and seen there were some problems upgrading from 6.1 to Mandrake for a few people. So I go and install 6.1, but a mistake and being a novice caused a system crash, so you know what happened next. :)

But the point is, I was able to get into the install process with no major hassles. I even installed FreeBSD on the box as well.
I guess that means I know a little, Maybe, maybe not.

Ok...another install, same as before, file system FAT. Now I try to install Mandrake 7.0.
BTW....The download went onto my hard drive, so that means I am using the hd.img. Worked fine for
6.1.

Try as I might, here goes another install of Mandrake. All the file are on my hard drive. Used winimage to extract the files to
a floppy. Go to reboot, I get an error saying "boot failed...please insert another disk" WHY?
Same procedure as 6.1. I used all three RAWRITE programs.

rawrite, rawite(dos.exe) and rawwritewin. Not one of them will boot the install process. Same error...boot failed.
Can someone please explain to this novice what the bloody heck I am doing wrong.

Thanks Group
Ron

P.S. Has anyone done a hard drive install? Hey, I am willing to pay for tech support or in this case make a long distance phone
call for help. This is driving me up the wall .....Thanks Again
