I'm currently using kernel vmlinuz-2.2.14-1mdklinus, which came with
Mandrake 7.0. I was compiling a new kernel. On booting with the new
kernel, my SCSI CD-ROM writer was not recognized anymore.

This happens also when I use kernel vmlinuz-2.2.14-15mdk, which also
is part of Mandrake 7.0.

Using kernel vmlinuz-2.2.14-1mdklinus again, my CD ROM writer is
recognized again.

How can I use another kernel without having this SCSI problem?

Regards,
Claus.
