[newbie] Problem with Lothar

I recently installed the mandrake linux powerpack.  I
then ran lothar and it recognized a lot of my hardware
but not my ethernet card or my soundcard.  I then
clicked on the bar that says run configuration tool. 
when i did this, nothing happened.  what do I do?  can
someone help me?
