You can download just the word processor, WordPerfect 8, for free, but
it's a big download. The hot news is that WordPerfect Office 2000 is
now shipping (at least to distributors) and can be ordered. I've been
using WP8/Linux, and I ordered my WP Office 2000/Linux yesterday from
TigerDirect for about $100. It includes the wp, spreadsheet, and
presentation software.

Well, it's a mixed bag. It can get you up and running about as good as
Mandrake. However, they did a lot of nonstandard things with it, so
that when you start to customize, the usual sources of information will
be inadequate. There is a good newsgroup, however.

I switched from Corel to Mandrake because of the nonstandard stuff.
