at the first text shown ie: LILO
type "linux 3" <--without quotes - be quick there is a default 5 second time
limit before it continues to boot.

once in init level 3, type "setup" <-- without quotes, choose SYSTEM SERVICES
from the menu, and re-enable the services you stopped.
