Dear list,

Long time follower, first time poster. Help. I have a problem which
has been covered before I believe back in 12/99. I get the error
message that my kernel doesn't have ppp support built and to contact the
system administrator . I click the ok button and the CONNECT window
comes up. Only when I click connect, I get a "Sorry modem is busy"
message from Kppp. I found a temporary work around using minicom to
reset the modem and then use Kppp I am able to dial-in to my isp and
send this mail message.

I am using mandrake 6.0 with kernel 2.2.13 that I compiled and
installed. I am wondering if I didn't include a module that kppp
needs. I welcome your feedback and troubleshooting tips.
I also have other messages that I would like to rid my system of, but
they can wait until this problem is solved.

Thanks In Advance,

Terry Golightly
