I've searched high and low for one as well.  I guess you've got a few options, and I'll name a few here.

1) Netscape communicator contains netscape mail (which I use).   It's just like the windows version of Netscape mail.

2) KMail.  My last experience with this, albeit a while ago, is that it didn't handle html very well.   That might have changed

3) There are two new clients being developed that look absolutely outstanding.  They are both MS Outlook-like clients which allow you to manage contacts, mail, calendars, etc ... But they're still in heavy development and as such aren't usable yet by the end user.  The first is for GNOME - It's called Evolution and you can read up about it at http://www.helixcode.com.  The second is for KDE - It's called Magellan.  You can read up about it at  http://zamolxe.csis.ul.ie/Magellan/index.html

Hmm ... hopefully Stephen Bosch won't take *too* much offense to this email of mine.  I don't think there are too many typos this time.

Mark.

Hi all,

I'm really seeking advise I guess. I'm using Mandrake LINUX 7 and am new
totally to LINUX, running it for a couple of weeks now but I tend to use it
as my 'base' system and hopefully say bye bye to Windows :)

Alas with this I will have to say Bye bye to Eudora - A totally FAB, very
configurable Email client.

So I need to have a good mail system with LINUX - I don't like KMail at all.

I've seen a lot of clients out there - most of which are text based.
Obviously I'm used to Eudora which is a Windows/GUI program. Are there any
other decent programs there?

I've seen PINE which is a text based program. Looks OK! MUTT also looks OK.

What along with a client I've seen so many statements like, sendmail,
fetchmail etc. etc. I would love to set a decent mail system up under LINUX
could someone send me in the right direction? :)

Thanks for reading this.

Glen
