[newbie] PCMCIA hung

Mandrake 7.0 runs beautifully on my Toshiba Satellite after a fresh
install, but upon rebooting later, it gets down as far as "Starting
PCMCIA" and just hangs there.  I used the recommended install route and
there is no other OS on this machine.  WaddoIdo now?
