There is something for windows called GOBACK. It can really save your butt
if you are afraid about your comp crashing or getting viruses. What it does
is it puts a parition on your hard drive a size of your choice. And it
remembers certain files that will allow you to "go back in time" and
magically its restored. It keeps a record about everytime you boot up your
machine. And it boots up before windows does so if windows is gone it still
should work. A couple things incase your interested to run a defrag on it
you need to disable goback and with norton theres a certain patch you need
for it. I blew a hard drive away because of it. But GOBACK has also saved me
a couple of times. heres a link to the site
