I have a unique problem with mandrake 7.0. most
people have trouble configuring x but mandrake has managed to make this painful
ordeal simple (and even kind of cool looking). my problem is a cannot exit x. if
i logout of x, i get a blank black screen and the entire system ceases to
respond. if i try to force exit (ctrl+alt+backspace) x the same the happens and
dito if i try to kill andreboot the whole system. once i log into x the only way
out is a hard reboot. i cannot change users and i cannot get back into the
terminal. all of this occurs regardless of which installation method i choose
and whether i choose graphical login or terminal. I have tried everything i can
think of. i love mandrake, but i am having to stick with and older version of
redhat because i can't use x on mandrake.
