Carol....you haven't given us (the folks who try to help here)
a chance to assist you in fixing your problem. You just
dashed in here and announced that you were switching to SuSE,
because Mandrake doesn't support your video card (which is
totally untrue). How about a better (more detailed)
description of your problem with your x configuration, so we
can help you to get Mandrake running?
I for one am not here to read about how happy you are with
SuSE. If you "gave up" then why are you still here? If you
haven't given up then let's see if we can fix the problem.
You've seen KDE now, so you can uninstall SuSE and reinstall
Mandrake, so we can get on with it :-)

P.S. A wild guess might be that you have a monitor that
doesn't have correct synch figures in the data base and we
might need to use another monitor selection (or enter the
synch rates manually) to get things working for you.
