Well, for starters, if you got the boxed version of Mandrake, you may
have the rpm version already. check out the 5th and 6th cd's, if you've
got them. If not, check out www.rpmfind.net to find 'em. If you are
bound and determined to use the tarball you downloaded, then put it in
/tmp, then from that directory, type 'tar xvfz some.file.name.tar.gz'
This will cause some text to fly by; the stuff at the far left is the
new directory that the tarball unpacked into. For more information, try
'info tar' or 'info gzip'. P.S. I think I'd recommend the rpm files,
as I found a cool one on the CD's that basically acts as the plugin that
allows netscape under linux to view pdf files inline.
