I am trying to get Qmail (http://www.qmail.org) to run on my installation
of Mandrake 7.02. Everything for qmail is working EXCEPT the ability to
get mail from outside servers. I can send mail internally and send out
from the server without a problem, but can't GET mail from outside.
I've been going through various troubleshooting steps and I have found
that I can't telnet to Port 25 from an outside server. In my inetd.conf
file I have this uncommented line at the bottom:
smtp stream tcp nowait qmaild /var/qmail/bin/tcp-env
tcp-env/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd
Those two lines are actually one line. I understand this is what qmail
needs.. but my Port 25 is still denying anything from the outside. How
can I open port 25 for listening? Is there some security feature in
Mandrake 7.02 that closes Port 25?
Thanks.
James
