ROTF! Maybe first, you should be asking the Suse Newbie list :P
Okay, well, hmm... basically the differences in these cards (From what I
understand) is how the BIOS on the card is set. It's not full duplex across
these different connections, so the system will use whichever connection you
set up in the cards bios.
If the card is makred 3c509b-tp, then you should have a twisted pair
connection on the back :P
I don't remember what each one of them were, basically it was one had just
twisted pair, one had twisted pair and Coax, and one had twisted pair, coax,
and AUI (There may have been a fourth with just twisted pair and AUI).
So it shouldn't matter. The 3Com 509 driver should work with any of these
cards.

Subject: [newbie] 3c509b/3c509b TPO/ 3c509b TPC

BG:
        Suse 6.4
        AMD k6-2 450
        64 MB
        Mother Board : DFI K6BV3+
My network card is a 3c509b...

Here is my problem:
Bios sees my network card as 3c509b.
The card is marked as 3c509b-tp
        ASSY: 03-0021-201-Rev-A
        FCC ID: DF 63C509B

        As far as I know, 3Com manufactured a 509, 509b tpo, and 509b tpc

It worked under Mandrake 6.1 (MacMillian 6.5).

How do I find out which card I really have?
How do I get it to work under Suse 6.4?

        Thanks in advance!
