Oh, YES!
This is a good way to make a rumor: cut out a part of the mail, so that
people do not have a reference, and hope they will not try to search for
the original mail! YES! Next thing you know, this will be cited as "a
rumor" on another mailing list, and In the end someone may even believe
it.
