    This CD ROM works off of a (proprietary?) controller on the soundcard.  
Without special drivers it won't even work under Windows.  This drive will 
not function off a normal ATAPI interface if it's like the ones I've owned or 
worked on.  
    You don't have a normal CD you could plug in temporarily do you?  I hope 
somebody else has a better suggestion for you.  -Gary-
